The ultimate Bachelor Pad was our clients aim. Our design focused client wasn’t afraid to let loose on a bold and somewhat provocative outcome in a traditional sleepy beachside location. Concrete, steel and glass were all part of the original material pallet, each material having permission to shout a little.

 

The design is broken into 4 equal pods, two on the left of the open foyer and two on the right. The foyer and stairs act as the spine linking each pod and level. Tilt up concrete panels are left in their raw state either side of the open tread staircase lending the home a strong warehouse overtone. Bamboo flooring combined with striking green accents in both the furnishings and feature lighting add to the necessary warmth. The living zone and master bedroom are located on the upper level where one can view over the adjoining property’s and watch Moffat Beach's iconic surf break. The lower level accommodates a double garage + Laundry along with 2 guest suites, bathroom and secondary living space which links through to a sunken plunge pool. Whilst the home reads externally as an intimidating structure, those who are within experience its true warmth and cocooning embrace of a simple rectilinear layout that acts as a haven from the busyness of life.
